Sean Casten

Sean Casten is an American businessman and writer known for his work on industrial energy recycling. He is the president and CEO of Recycled Energy Development, which works on combined heat and power (also called cogeneration) and waste energy recovery.[1]

Casten was previously the president and CEO of Turbosteam, which focuses on small-to-mid-size applications of energy recycling. He is the founding chairman of the Northeast Combined Heat and Power Initiative and served in 2007 he served as chairman of the United States Combined Heat and Power Association.[2]

Casten is a columnist at the environmental magazine Grist,[3] and his writing has also appeared in publications such as the New Republic[4] and the Chicago Tribune.[5] He was named a “CHP Champion” by the U.S. Combined Heat and Power Association in 2005.[6]
